BIMI allows people receiving your emails to see your company logo right next to them, enhancing your email trust and brand recognition.

What is BIMI

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a visual certification that businesses can leverage to have their emails stand out in people's inboxes, fostering trust and improving interaction rates.

E-goi makes this even easier by letting you sit back and relax while we set the whole thing up for you. Once it's up and ready, BIMI ensures your brand is visible to your customers even before they open your email.

Example: When you send a BIMI-enhanced email, your company’s logo will appear right next to your email in people's inbox, similar to how Google does it below.

Use cases

BIMI is perfect for:

  • Enhancing brand visibility: For campaigns where brand recognition is key, having your brand prominently displayed in people's inbox is a major boost. Your brand recognition can skyrocket up to 120%, with up to a 32% increase in purchase intents.
  • Preventing phishing: By ensuring that only genuine emails display your brand, BIMI helps curb phishing attempts and brings in consumer confidence.
  • Improving metrics: BIMI-powered campaigns often see higher delivery and open rates due to the trust your certified logo conveys.

Requirements

  • An E-goi account with a paid plan.
  • BIMI enabled in your E-goi account
  • Access to your company's DNS management.
  • VMC certificate.
  • Your company logo trademarked with a recognized authority (eg. USPTO in the USA).

Costs

Sending BIMI emails using E-goi doesn't add any extra costs to your E-goi plan, but implementing BIMI requires a VMC certificate and trademarking your brand, which comes with their own costs.

Logo format

Your company's logo must meet at least these specs (see also the requirements in full):

  • SVG format.
  • Square proportions.
  • Less than 32 Kb in size.
  • The background should be a single solid color since transparencies are inconsistent across email clients.
  • The image should be centered, as it may be displayed within a circle, square or rounded square depending on the email client.

BIMI provides a set of tools to help you whip up an SVG meeting all the above.

VMC certificate

Implementing BIMI requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) for your logo. A VMC needs:

  • A logo trademarked with a recognized authority (eg., USPTO in the USA). See the guidelines.
  • The logo must be in SVG format, meet BIMI specifications and be hosted on a secure HTTPS site.
  • DMARC must be properly configured on your domain.

Step-by-step

Enabling BIMI

Due to BIMI’s technical requirements, it can only be activated after we evaluate your E-goi account. To make your request:

1) Go to your user menu (upper right-corner), click Settings and choose BIMI from the left-hand panel.

2) Click Activate.

3) Wait for us to contact you about enabling BIMI in your account.

Implementing BIMI

We can help you do this! Drop us a line using the Help widget in your E-goi account.

1) If you haven't done so yet, authenticate your email sender in E-goi.

Important: Our authentication covers all technical requirements for your emails to support BIMI, but ensure your DMARC record has a \"p=quarantine\" or \"p=reject\" policy.

2) Purchase a VMC certificate for your logo.

3) Create a BIMI record in your site's DNS. To do so, log into your domain's DNS management, create a TXT record under the subdomain \"default._bimi\" and add the following (replace "example" with your site's domain):

default._bimi.example.com IN TXT "v=BIMI1; l=https://example.com/logo.svg; a=https://example.com/certificado.pem”

4) Use the BIMI Inspector to verify that BIMI has been correctly set up.

Sending BIMI-enabled emails

1) Test your email campaign to be sure your BIMI logo shows up when your email lands in the inbox.

2) Proceed with sending your campaign as usual.
