Changing the data of multiple contacts in a single go

Modifying the information of a single contact in E-goi is dead easy! Just locate the contact in your mailing list, edit it and save your changes.

But if you need to modify multiple contacts at the same time, E-goi makes it a doddle. Say you added a "Salesperson" field to your list (which contains the name of the sales manager assigned to each contact) and you want to change it to "John Smith". Simply follow the steps below:

1) Go to the "Lists" menu, head to the mailing list containing the contacts you want to change and click on "Contacts".

2) A page will come up with all contacts in that list. What happens next depends on what exactly you want to do.

Modifying just a couple of contacts

If you can see the contacts you want to modify in the listing, simply tick the checkbox to the left of each contact and hit "Actions" in the lower left corner of the page.

A window will come up with a list of actions you can perform. Click on the field you want to modify (in our example, it'd be "Salesperson"), edit it and confirm your changes. Done! John will now be the sales manager for the contacts you selected.

Modifying all contacts in the list

Just click "Actions for the whole list" in the lower left corner of the page and then hit the field you want to modify (in our example, it'd be "Salesperson"). Confirm your changes and you're done! All contacts in the list will have John as their sales manager.

Modifying all contacts in a specific segment

Create or load a segment containing the contacts you want to change. Then click "Actions for this segment" in the lower left corner of the page and hit the field you want to modify (in our example, it'd be "Salesperson"). Confirm your changes and all contacts in that segment will have John as their sales manager.

And that's all there is to it! This is a nice, simple way to quickly update the data of your contacts in E-goi. It comes in especially useful if you have a lot of extra fields or tags in your list, which are great for segmenting!
